Introduction to Orange County’s Role as Part of “Colonial America”
Chris Jepsen Orange County Archivist and Historian
Date and Time
Sunday, November 9, 2025 1:30-3:00PM
Topic
As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, the term “Colonial America” often brings to mind the 13 colonies on the East Coast. Yet at the same time, California was also a colony—under Spanish rule—and plenty of history was unfolding here as well.
Join us for an engaging presentation by Chris Jepsen, Orange County Historical Society president and county archivist, as he explores Orange County’s role during this formative period.
Jepsen is a frequent lecturer, museum exhibit creator, historical tour guide, and writer for journals, magazines, and his blog The O.C. History Roundup.
